This last week has been really great, VERY BUSY. I got a new companion named Sister ward!! GUESS WHAT SHE IS 4"10 TOO!! I learned that my eye automatically go up because I'll go to look at her, and then I have to pull my eyes down to MY eye level. CRAZY STUFF!!
This week we had DLC meeting which is always a lot of fun. I love being in close contact with President and helping him carry out the plans of the mission. He related missionary work to fishing and I never realized how much the two relate to achother! It was a really great meeting overall, I love how much President cares about all of us and the work, how much all of we as missionaries care about the work and doing everything we can to make it the best it can be.
We had 2 really great lessons with Dominic this week!! We taught him the Plan of Salvation using my little cut outs and that went really well. We were able to bring a missionary who just got home 3 weeks ago with us named Antonia Cash. She was great! THEN we brought Dominic to a church tour and Brought Antonia and Jordan Myers with us, both of which are in their 20's, single, and RM's. It was so great to have them there and we had a great time talking about the Book of Mormon and showing him around so he would be more familiar with it!! He isn't sure about baptism yet... We are still working on that part. He for wants to make sure this is what he wants to do first because his mom forced him to be baptized into the Presbyterian church and had a bad experience. He said that he has felt his faith growing though and that it's not so "miniscule" anymore... THEN. DUN DUH DUH DUNN!! HE CAME TO CHURCH! It was so great Jordan invited him to sit with him and took him to Priesthood for 3rd hour and DOMINIC LOVED IT!! He was so happy when we found him after church! He had this great big smile on his face and when I asked him if he had any questions he said
"I did, but I got that resolved."
"Oh what was that Dominic?"
"I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HOME TEACHING WAS...."
HAHAHAHAH I loved it!!! I'll attach a picture! Also we had another sister come and teach him with us named Rachel Lawrence and she just gave her farewell talk! It's been fun to teach with her she will be a great missionary!
We also taught a lady named Robin this week. So there is the church called Eastview Christian church and it is the GREAT AND ABOMINABLE. I cringe every time someone says eastview... they are HUGE they get tons of donations every week, they are constantly adding on to it Starbucks, a gym, a weight room, a game room, a band, etc. They have 2 sermons each year that are solely ANTI MORMON. jadidhnendjfushsnsk!!.?!? I was the most upset about it when I heard. So we go to teach this lady because we had posted a Free Bible add on Facebook and she requested one. We knock on her door and notice that she has "eastview, ridiculous love," stickers all OVER her door. She opens up and she's wearing an eastview t shirt. We say hi, she invites us in. Stuff everywhere, PLANTS EVERYWHERE including a cactus that's almost up to her ceiling in a huge pot, it weirdly smells like peachy-o's and she's got 7 CATS just roaming around. She told us that she was looking to compare the king James to what Eastview reads and grabs this bible with a big Eastview case on it. She proceeded to tell us how much she loved eastview... that they bought 2 city busses to go pick people up now and they just put in a running track around their gym and how they get "BIG BUCKS" each week and how proud she was.. she had some questions thought that were key. "Why are there so many versions of the bible?" "Why are there so many churches?" We were able to teach HER the restoration and she loved it. We gave her a book of Mormon an explained that she could know if it was true by praying and reading. As soon as we said that she said "well I'm never leaving Eastview though."KDIDJNDNDCUHDNSUSUE!!! She just had gotten answers to her questions but she threw up a wall because of the instant gratification that Eastview gives. The make ya feel goods and clap yo hands!! But that's okay. If she reads the Book of Mormon and prays I know God can do anything. We will see if she wants us to come back but that was a very interesting lesson
I got to Call Patrick this morning and oh my HECK he is doing so good!! I've called him from a different area phone every time so I'm never calling from a number he knows. He answers and says"hello, this is Patrick." As soon as he finds out it's me he gets SO EXCITED. He is currently working on getting the Melchizedek Preisthood and he just spoke in sacrament meeting last Sunday!! It was so good to talk to him. Every time I get to have a conversation with him his mormon vocabulary has grown so now he was telling me all about the D & C AND he said "Brother Ferguson" instead of "Brother Patrick"... I remember the first time he said that as a joke after we introduced ourselves as "Sister" ... I love him so much. SO THAT WAS SO FUN TO HEAR HIS JAMAICAN VOICE. He always ends with "Your brother love you!!" Also cassie and chaz are doing SUPER GREAT!! KARLI WAS TEXTING THEM AND THEY SAID THE CUTEST THING I'LL COPY AND PASTE IT BECAUSE SHE SENT IT TO ME.
“We talk about you and Sister Bair all the time. Cassie had been waiting for the right missionaries for years. We owe so much to the both of you. You changed our lives forever. We are looking forward to being sealed together with our new baby to be together for all eternity. That might never have happened if it wasn’t for you two. Our home is ALWAYS open to you.”
THEY ARE PREGNANT TOO MOM!!, I AM THE MOST EXCITED.
THE GOSPEL BLESSES FAMILIES. GOD LOVES US. We feel the most joy when we put ourselves in HIS hands.
I love you so much!! You' da you da best. :)
Love, Sister Bair ♡
