Wes and Robyn went okay! We aren't going back but we left on a good note. They aren't budging any time soon but they have good intentions, they are just misguided. They're a lot better than they were without Jesus though so I'm at least glad for that!
Things here have been going pretty well! We have had an exchange and have another one tomorrow, we have also been working a lot with members and part member families. We had a cool experience this week with a member named Sister Brann! Sister Bran is a cute old lady who broke her foot and had to have surgery a while ago. We went over to do service for her, washing dishes and sheets and cleaning, (that sort of thing) at the end of our visit her friend named Mary came walking in with like 20 6 packs of diet Pepsi (I DID think of you and dad in that moment.... ;) ) she saw my companion's last name and learned that it was POLISH. She was so excited because her ancestors are also from Poland and we learned that she absolutely loves family history. We set up a time to come and do family History with her and sister Bran Saturday. We got there Saturday morning and it was so cool! We sat with Mary while Sister Bran was quilting up a storm and got talking. We talked a lot about the Temple and why we do family History work, (sister Bran LOVES the temple so it was easy) Mary kept saying "well if you ever wanna road trip I'd love to come...." sister Bran goes "well you gotta be Mormon to get in you ready to convert?!" (Sarcastic) Mary goes to Eastview Christian where they preach Anti Mormon.... but at the end of the visit we left her a plan of SALVATION Pamphlet and she said she would read it! Then we got a text a few hours after leaving from sister Bran asking if we could bring her another Book of Mormon! It was so cool, we are hoping to do Family History with her again this Saturday!!
We did service at the Creelman's. I love them. Sister Creelman is returning to activity, her husband is a recent convert, and her daughter isn't baptized so we try to be over there as much as we can! She is super humble and sweet and has just a lot on her plate with her husband moving to Texas for work and her having to single parent it out for a few years while they build up funds to all move.
We had an AWESOME lesson with Dominic! We brought Rachel with us again and we taught just about Jesus Christ and our relationship with him. It was so neat! He said that he felt weird saying it last time, but that he "prayed in the woods once to know if God was real kind of like Joseph Smith.." He opened up to us a ton and we are hoping to take him on a church tour! There isn't a YSA close around here, but there is an institute class that we could bring him to on Thursdays. We found that out this week with an experience that nearly knocked me over. We were in the hall of the church and heard a loud seminary like voice teaching and getting really excited about whatever he was teaching about. We were talking to a member about pathways when all of a sudden we here "okay I'll be right back" Come from the class room and out walks MY SOPHOMORE YEAR SEMINARY TEACHER, BROTHER ANDERSON. What in the world.. he saw me and was like..... "ummm..." as he was pointing at me. He asked me what my name was and I said "SISTER BAIR I WAS IN YOUR SEMINARY CLASS!" Well I completely forgot that I have a first name until he had to ask again and I said oh, yeah... Baylee. He got so excited and said BAYLEE BAIR! I KNOW YOU! REMIND ME, BOX ELDER OR BEAR RIVER? So yeah we had a great conversation and he wanted us to sit in for his class butttttt we couldn't. So now with Dominic we can! What a weird moment that was seeing someone from home! Hahaha.
We found 2 new investigators this week while knocking doors on exchanges, that was fun! We go back this week so we will see how things pan out! I had interviews with President Griffin, he and Sister Griffin are my best friends. I love them so much. I also had SUPER SPICY Indian food from our neighbors who invited us over. They have a Hindu background and like worship the sun but also they believe in Jesus sooooooo we have them a book of Mormon in (Tamil) their language, and showed them the "because of him" video! It was AWESOME!
I got to knock on some doors in a little neighborhood that felt JUST LIKE ELGIN and I got so excited. I miss Elgin! It was so fun, I love all the huge houses that are super old and have been separated into like 5 apartments so everyone is just living on each other in these tiny homes. I love all the ghetto cars and the black thugs walking around and how NO ONE CARES WHICH WAY YOU PARK on the side on the street. It's the best. :)
