Week 14!!! Baptisms!!!

Dearest Lindas,

IT HAPPENED IT HAPPENED!!!!! (freak out with me) THERE ARE 2 NEW MEMBERS OF THE ELGIN FIRST WARD! WOOOOOOOO!!

So the morning started out by getting up a little earlier and going to the church to fill the font. I was Jumping out of my skin I have never been more excited. We got everything ready to go, the ward came in CLUTCH with making everything happen so smoothly. Sister Lewis made both Ruby and Agustin mason jars with notes so everyone could write them one and drop it in their jar. Sister Hernandez and Brother Keddington gave talks in both English and SPANISH so Agustin would be able to understand, the Relief Society brought food and treats for everyone, Bishop Stallings and Brother Dekker performed the baptism, and so many showed up just to support!! The only hiccup out of the whole thing was that Agustin forgot his white Boxers so it started a little late while Emily ran home to grab them but that was okay!!!! They got in the water and the spirit was so strong. RUBY is honestly one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She is married to Marcellis who is in the National Guard and came home and was baptized over Christmas. He had to go back to his station in Texas and is there until March 30th but Ruby decided to take the lessons from US and be baptized while he was gone instead of waiting so they can be sealed in the temple that much sooner. I Adore her.

Listen to how awesome this is. There is a member of the ward named Brother Parsons. We were in a meeting last week and we're planning the baptism and he said "Are Agustin's kids going to be able to come to see him do this?" (The kids are currently living in Minnesota) We explained that no, they couldn't get back here in time to see it and so he called his brother in Minneapolis... His brother drove and picked the kids up in Minnesota, brother Parsons met him halfway and picked them up and brought them the rest of the way Friday night, and took them HOME SUNDAY. I died. I love this ward!

I wish I could explain how much I love the gospel and how much I love my Father in Heaven and my Savior. They are truly there for us. I love the people I meet and teach, those I serve with, and my area. I JUST LOVE MY MISSION. We were able to have interviews with President and he looked at me and said "Sister Bair, you've been out 2 transfers... how was your experience?" In that moment I got a taste of what my departing interview would feel like. There is no price value for the experience I have had so far. I love my mission and wouldn't trade it for the world. It has an endless amount of worth to me. Read the Book of Mormon, one of my favorite chapters is Alma 26. I love you all so much!

Love, Sister Bair
